The curriculum starts with basic subjects as Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology. Later on, students become acquainted with animal-origin food hygiene, elements of husbandry and nutrition. Clinical subjects are offered together with obligatory clinical practice. Students participate actively in the diagnosis and treatment of clinical cases. University clinics have a total of 8 surgical theatres: for small animals, farm animals, ophthalmology and dental clinic. The history of the Veterinary Medicine Faculty dates back to 1944, since then over 6000 veterinary surgeons have graduated. Long tradition of excellence in research and teaching.
