The Faculty of Biotechnology offers second level studies in Medical Biotechnology, which is a 2-year Master's program that provides students with skills to solve problems in experimental work. The program is designed to reflect the high quality and specificity of scientific research conducted by the faculty's 15 research groups. The individual master's dissertation projects, which are coordinated by the faculty's research and teaching staff, enable students to develop problem-solving skills that are essential for their professional careers. Graduates of Medical Biotechnology possess comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of biological sciences, particularly biochemistry and medical biotechnology, which are necessary to perform professional duties in an interdisciplinary manner. Students are also trained to use bioinformatics tools and literature in the English language for their professional work. The program prepares students to discuss scientific issues, to arrange individual and team work in the laboratory in accordance with the principles of bioethics and safety, and to implement research and application projects. Students in the Medical Biotechnology program also learn about the creation and development of individual entrepreneurship and are well-informed about the market of biotech companies. They are also trained to facilitate their further learning and career planning. The program requires students to speak English at a B2+ level and to use professional English vocabulary related to biology, biochemistry, biomedicine, and biotechnology. To obtain a master's degree, students must write and defend a master thesis. The course starts if the minimum number of 10 students will enroll. To apply for the program, students need to submit their bachelor or master degree certificate, transcript of grades/supplement from bachelor or master studies, certificate confirming English Language knowledge on B2 level, passport photocopy, digital passport size photo, CV, cover letter, and a recommendation letter .
