The Forest Information Technology (FIT) program is a Master's Degree program that specializes in forest information technology, and it is offered by the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (EUSD) and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (WULS) in Poland. The program's duration is four semesters, and it begins in March or October. The program offers 120 ECTS credits, and its aim is to teach students about environmental information technologies and Green IT. The program combines conceptual knowledge of sustainable forest ecosystems with innovative IT technical solutions to address a range of issues. The program is accredited in Germany by ASIIN and in Poland by PKA. To be eligible for the program, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in forestry or a related field. Candidates with degrees in related fields must demonstrate that their education is convergent with the learning outcomes expected of forestry graduates. Candidates must also have confirmed knowledge of English language. The program has two mandatory subjects in the first year, which are Geomatics and Data Analysis & Management. The second semester of the first year focuses on forest management topics and the application of IT in forest and environmental-related subjects. In the third semester, students pursue an independent research project, and in the fourth semester, they work on their master thesis, supplemented by further elective modules. Graduates of the FIT program are well-prepared to work in the highly specialized job market of Green IT and environmental data analytics, natural resource management, and applied research in the forest and environmental sector in Europe or beyond. Graduates receive a double degree certificate from Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. The program has no fees, as it is based on an international agreement. Foreign candidates are recruited by USDE in Germany, and applications are processed by UNI-ASSIST. The program accepts 25 students per year.
