The Faculty of Oriental Studies at the University of Warsaw offers a second-cycle full-time program in Inner Asia: Mongolian and Tibetan Studies. This interdisciplinary program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the history, languages, and cultures of the Inner Asia region, particularly Mongolia and Tibet. The region is known for its fascinating cultures, including the Mongol Empire and Tibetan civilization, and students will learn about the languages used in the past and present, including Mongolian and Tibetan, as well as many aspects of culture such as religion (Buddhism, Shamanism), literature, and art. The program is taught in English by a team of experienced scholars who are experts in the field, and language classes are conducted by native speakers. The program runs for two years (four semesters) and is designed to prepare students for careers in public administration, universities, national or international institutions and organizations, especially within the domain of culture. To receive the Master's degree, students are required to write a thesis and pass an examination. In addition, students have the opportunity to upgrade their qualification and language skills by traveling to Mongolia for language or research training. The admission procedure for candidates with Polish diplomas involves a two-stage recruitment process. At the first stage, candidates must give an interview to check their English proficiency. Positive results of the interview qualify candidates for the next stage. Candidates who present documents confirming their English language proficiency at B2 level are exempted from the interview. At the second stage, the method of calculating the recruitment points varies depending on the candidate's degree certificate. Candidates with a degree certificate in Oriental Studies, specialization in Mongolian and Tibetan studies or Oriental studies-Mongolian and Tibetan studies obtained during full-time studies or part-time studies will have their overall grade point and grade point average for the entire period of studies considered.
